Description
By Mark Crawford | In Partnership with Arts Club Theatre Company
Brett and Drew are exhausted by living the life of their dreams in the big city. Opportunity knocks when Brett inherits a house in rural Ontario, prompting the decision to pack up, shift gears and open a B&B in a quaint little village. A heartwarming comedy about “being out” in small town Canada, skeletons in the closet, and celebrating your community.

Why I chose this play
“As a lifelong student of the rural/urban divide, I am drawn to Mark’s authentic rural voice (he grew up as 4H kid) and his keen sense of irony. With these tools, he creates three-dimensional rural life, rather than a stereotype.”

Stages & Pages
The Ottawa Public Library and GCTC have come together in a special partnership to help you explore the themes and topics raised in each play during GCTC’s 2018-2019 season.
OPL’s Readers’ Advisory staff have read the scripts for each of the plays, and recommended resources to further the exploration of their themes. The resources will only add to the experience of seeing the show, and can be explored before or after being part of the audience.
Prologue
The Prologue Series continues to bring exciting discussions and unique experiences to GCTC that take us into the creative process of the plays on our stage.
The latest edition is December 5, free to the public, and will start at 6:45 pm in the GCTC lobby. Artistic Director Eric Coates hosts a pre-show interview with Bed and Breakfast artists, followed by a backstage tour. Availability is limited, so be sure to RSVP on GCTC.ca.
