You may borrow one of our five free assistive listening devices for our Mainstage Theatre performances which are available at the box office by request. Please ask the box office when you arrive. These devices are available on a first-come-first-served basis.  To borrow a device you will need to leave a piece of ID with the box office. You will then turn on the device, place the headphones on and listen in once you’ve entered the theatre. You can turn up the volume as you desire, by spinning the volume button on the device.

The headphones rest around the back of your head and over your ears. You are also welcome to bring your own headphones as long as they can plug into the 3.5mm audio jack. At this time, T-coil and Bluetooth are not available.

These printed programs are in 18-point font (large print). You can request them at the Box Office or the Bar in the Upper Lobby.

Large print programs are available for GCTC Productions unless otherwise indicated.

Playscript

Access to playscripts may support those who require auditory or visual information described in text form. Please note that this is not a verbatim transcript of the play.

You can request access through the box office (or when you purchase your ticket). We will then send you a link to an online or digital PDF copy of the playscript prior to the performance. You will have access to the script starting on the first preview of the production, and up to 48 hours after the final performance. Access to the playscript is for your personal use only. We ask that you don’t download or distribute it as the script is the property of the playwright.

Content Notes

Content notes provide more details about what to expect. These notes highlight elements of a performance that may trigger a response in someone. These can include but are not limited to flashing lights, loud noises, violence, sexual violence, mental health themes, etc. These notes are not just about elements that may be alarming, they provide a deeper context to help you understand the tone of the show. Notes will be available on each show's webpage on demand, as well as at the box office by request.

Access Guide

This guide supports people who need to know more about what to expect at an event. An access guide tells the synopsis of the play, how to buy a ticket, shows pictures and maps of how to get to the theatre, and what the actors and characters will look like. The Guide also highlights the content notes. The show access guide will be emailed to those attending the Relaxed Performances at GCTC. Please visit our Relaxed Performance page to learn more here

Audio Pre-show notes

These recorded audio notes describe the visual elements of the play. This includes descriptions of the set, costumes, props and characters (in order of appearance). It will also include some information about the show such as the play's synopsis, and the director's note as well as who is in the play. This pre-show note will be available as an audio track on the show's webpage on demand the week of the performance.

Lobby Display

GCTC lobby displays include tactile elements from the production to support your engagement with the play. This allows you to engage with elements from the show to process them individually before or after the performance. These displays typically include costume design sketches, set renderings, scrap fabric, prop stand-ins and paint samples. There are also usually photos of the production on a slide show and sometimes soundscapes from the show. These are available throughout the production in the lobby when you attend a GCTC production.

Chill-Out Space

There is a chill-out space located at the end of the hallway of the main lobby. Use this space to soften your sensory experience. There are yoga mats, magazines, and soft lighting. Feel free to do whatever will make you more comfortable, like sitting, lying down, or reading. This is available throughout the day and evening during shows.
