Guilt

Andrea Koziol, a blond haired white woman, is illuminated from above as she looks toward the camera in shock. She is wearing a black feathered hat and a dark flowing shirt.

Guilt is a new play by Diane Flacks (Unholy), a tour through the many facets of guilt performed live from her own living room. It explores the perspective of a self-sacrificing mother who is also an instigator of family dissolution.

Anyone who is familiar with Diane as a writer and performer (Sibs, Unholy, Random Acts, Care, By a Thread) will be eager to see her latest take on the human condition—and those who don’t know her work will be thrilled by this introduction.

“Using a one-person format to explore a journey allows me to directly connect to the audience, and subvert expectations about what guilt looks like personally and societally,” Diane says of Guilt. “I can wrestle with the many raw ways that guilt can affect a person, particularly a mother, and make the audience complicit as I explore the why’s and the ways through Guilt and beyond.”
