Shannon Reynolds Memorial Fund: Update
Manon St-Jules joins “Benevolence” as Assistant Director with support of the Shannon Reynolds Memorial Fund
We are thrilled to announce bilingual theatre artist Manon St-Jules as the Assistant Director for our upcoming production of “Benevolence,” with the generous support of the Shannon Reynolds Memorial Fund.
The Shannon Reynolds Memorial Endowment Fund supports Canadian artists that self-identify as female, through the provision of paid, mentored internships. Each year, the endowment supports an artist in a theatrical discipline, with a particular focus on production (lighting design, sound design, production design, carpentry, stage management and directing).
"I had the great pleasure of knowing and working with [Shannon]," says Manon, "and she was easily one of the kindest, sweetest people I've ever met. So to know she’s still there helping me out is incredible."

About Manon:
Manon has lead a bilingual acting career since graduating from the National Theatre School. Whether in classical or contemporary pieces, she’s collaborated with companies in Toronto (Canadian Stage, Festival of Classics, Theatre Direct, Pleiades), Montreal (Denise-Pelletier, Centaur, Segal Centre, Usine C) and Sudbury (STC, TNO). In Ottawa, she’s performed for the NAC’s French and English Theatre, GCTC, Arts Court, la Catapulte, Rouge Écarlate and Créations InVivo. She’s hosted concerts with the NAC Orchestra, the GG’s Performing Arts Awards Gala and several corporate events throughout the country. Her work on-camera includes dramatic as well as comedic parts in film, television, commercials and various multimedia projects. Recent credits include: Pour toi Flora (SRC), Eaux Turbulentes (ARTV and SRC), the feature Noël en boîte as well as three seasons of the youth tv series Amélie et Compagnie.
Along with regular voice work, Manon has done extensive work in translating and adapting various artistic and educational content. She has translated plays and librettos, as well as having been on the writing team of 3 youth tv series, most recently Season 2 of Gang de hockey (TFO). Her translation of Claudia Dey’s Trout Stanley will be produced by Théâtre Niveau Parking in Quebec City and UniThéâtre in Edmonton in the winter of 2024.
With her experience in teaching at the University of Ottawa’s Theatre Department, as well as coaching both student and professional actors alike, Manon is now transitioning into directing. She’s directed a couple of readings, as well as a production of Aéroportée by Michael Heiti, in translation at the Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario in 2022. She’s currently working alongside French actor Caroline Raynaud to develop a one-woman show; she’ll direct its first incarnation at the TNO in February 2024.
